Melinda (Mindy) Gould Parker, MSN, CNM, PMHNP
Mindy has been a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) since 2019. Her nursing career initially led her to Nurse Midwifery, and she earned her Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Utah. During her 15 years as a Certified Nurse Midwife, she developed a deep passion for supporting pregnant and postpartum women experiencing mental health challenges. This work inspired her to return to graduate school and further specialize in psychiatric care. Mindy is board certified as a PMHNP through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). While perinatal psychiatry remains her first passion, she also enjoys treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
Mindy believes psychiatric care should be highly individualized, recognizing that each person walks a unique path filled with challenges, growth, and self-discovery. She strives to provide a nonjudgmental, compassionate, and accepting environment where clients feel empowered to actively participate in their care. Mindy believes treatment is most successful when clients are included in the decision-making process. Her client-centered approach focuses not only on symptom management, but also on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of mental health concerns. She practices with empathy and takes a holistic approach to care, incorporating physical health, nutrition, psychotherapy, and medication management when appropriate. She is passionate about educating clients on their diagnoses and treatment options. Some of the conditions Mindy commonly treats include ADHD, women’s mental health concerns, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and addiction.
Outside of work, Mindy enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, exploring and playing with her daughters, participating in church activities, sewing, volunteering with charitable organizations, and spending cozy time with her husband and their four-legged family members.
